Anyone had problems after cataract surgery? Had my left lens replaced Monday with the top of the line offering. Next day follow-up showed 20-20 far and near with just a couple letters wrong. Now, I can barely make out the computer screen and distance is showing halos. Next follow-up is Tuesday. It's had me on edge for a couple of days now. Feel like it's making me crazy.

Yeah I have had plenty of problems. After having both eyes done I was able to see better then a couple of weeks after second surgery I developed what the Dr called secondary cataracts. It is a cloudy film over the implanted lens. This was worse than the original cataracts. The Dr. said it happens probably 50% of the time but usually it happens after a few years. He went back and did YAG laser surgery to remove the film. That worked for a week or so and now it is kinda like looking thru a dirty windshield. My Optometrist thinks it will get better. He says if not the lens will probably have to be changed.

You should call your surgeon's office and let them know. The surgeon may want to see you sooner than Tuesday. What you are describing isn't typical.

I had the YAG done on my left eye 2 weeks ago and, while it helped, it didn’t completely clear up the distance blurryness. Had my follow up last week and was told since I had a previous problem, this was probably about the best it’s going to get, but hopefully the halos and floaters will diminish over time. My vision is 20-20 with both eyes open.

I guess I was blessed. Had them on both eyes and had them fixed, one at a time. Thank the Lord with zero problems. I do wear reading glasses sometimes, but otherwise do not use glasses, in doors or out, with the exception that I do wear plain Ray Bans outside on sunny days, but was doing that years before the cataracts showed up.

Wife had hers done a few years ago by the same surgeon and it turned out perfectly. No glasses, no problems. I had to wear readers before the surgery and don’t need them now, so that’s good. I can live with mine the way they are but I was expecting better for the $8-9k.

Had both of my eyes done with the top lenses. Couldn't ask for better.
