The FBI at one time was a respected organization. They have lost their way. They were much better focusing on bank robbery and violent crimes.

My last year before I retired I couldn’t get anyone to fill my FBI task force vacancy. It had a free take home pickup, an extra 20 grand a year and all kinds of other perks but it went unfilled. That was the first time it’s ever happened.

I've got several friends with a metromess PD. Two active duty, +25 year guys, two retired. One 25 years on and then retired, the other 40 years on and then retired. They all say the FBI is a terrible organization, needs to have 100% of them fired, and start the hell over. Every investigation they meddled in, they made things worse.

I liked the sounds of on thing I heard. Keep lower level agents but get rid of the rest. Put the members that were kept in the US Marshals office on probationary period if not up to the real task let them go also.

When I was there it was a well oiled bank robbery busting machine. I loved catching bank robbers. Political administrators who shouldn’t have been subject to politics are the blame.

Not being American i don't currently know jack about them or have an opinion. That being said 40+ years ago i went on a road trip to DC to see the Smithsonian etc. One of the most impressive things i remember from that trip was the public tour they offered of their facility. Really enjoyed it back then and was quite impressed.

From the sounds of it probably not. 40+ years ago i had a lot of respect for our Mounties as well - now not so much. Same phenomenon. You know the Mounties "Always get their Man" except now the man identifies as something else and gets away.

They are still on the cutting edge of investigative knowledge, technology and techniques, their administration has been compromised by the democrats though. Law Enforcement must be free from political influence to be effective. In all my years I was never told to go in an investigative direction or did I ever tell my detectives the same.

I started losing respect for them when they screwed up one of my cases in 2005. I would much rather work with the Rangers than FBI.

Did the FBI sentence the defendants? I thought that was up to the judge/jury.

They're arresting individuals for silently praying outside a "clinic" in the UK. The last guy said he wasn't praying, just standing there, but he was inside the "protective zone". 'Bobby is reading questions from a booklet and asking him. He doesn't want to be there either. It's sad and ridiculous and part of the devil's doing. It's subtly put in TV shows and movies ad nauseum, always referred to as "healthcare".

If Black America would have recognized it in the 70s for the genocide that it is...they could have voted in reparations by now!

Since I grew up Mormon I know a bunch of guys that went into Federal law enforcement of one sort or another. I know 3 guys that made a career at the FBI and all 3 have told me that everything past middle management at the agency is corrupt and only interested in personal advancement at any cost.

Trump will Pardon

The FBI is corrupt to the core. Abolish the whole thing. The street level agents that are good will get jobs as detectives at the state and local level.

There are certain things that the FBI is unrivaled at. Someone mentioned bank robberies earlier and they're quite good at dealing with that, kidnappings is another, true anti-terrorism efforts, and complicated Financial crimes that cross multiple state lines and National borders. They also lead the world in forensics capabilities. Dissolve the agency but don't throw out the good parts when you rebuild it as something else somewhere else.

That's what needs to be cleaned up after the FBI

No offense to any of my elders but there is not a 75 year old on this plant that could physically stop me or my wife, from going somewhere
