Medicine mound depot restaurant on the far east side of town off 287 , if they are open. Sometimes they are closed at odd times/days
If you see cars, they’re open. They had some sort of bbq lasagna that was superb.

The Google says they are permanently closed but my brother ate there pretty recently and said it’s been renovated since I last stopped.

Never found a decent place to eat in Quanah. We usually eat in Vernon.

I disagree with this statement.

It’s odd to me but, Dutches and Medicine Mound depot seam to take turns being closed. I’ve eaten at both many times and the food and service were just fine. I will agree Vernon has more and better choices, you can get a good meal in Chillicothe or Quanah.

Thanks Jimbob, we decided to stay at a B&B/fnbo for our deer hunt this year near Chillicothe. Always looking for the best eats.

Went to Copper Breaks camping for the Persieds. Ate at Old Bank Saloon. Nothing spectacular, but also nothing you can say a bad word about. Mama had the chicken fried steak with okra and fries. I had the shrimp skewer with fried okra and onion rings. Chicken Fry was large, thick, lots of breading. Pretty good. Shrimp were very tasty, but rubbery (overcooked, it's seafood in West Texas), French fries were battered and tasty, may have been frozen. Onion rings and okra appeared to be fresh and battered. Very nice. The joint seemed to be understaffed, but the two gals waiting tables were hustling and keeping up. It was a Saturday night. Lots of locals. Nothing really stood out, but nothing really disappointed. I would go back. Recommend!
