I'm to the point of needing some hearing aid... conversations with any back-ground noise is difficult without asking folks to repeat themselves often.
Does anyone use over the counter hearing aids, such as those from Costco. I had a hearing test done there yesterday and made an appointment to buy on Monday, but was curious if anyone here uses their products.
If so, rechargeable or battery operated?
Low $ or the tiny $1600 Jabra model?
Thanks

battery, no waiting on recharge.
I have phonaks provided by the va, they bluetooth to my phone and with a sending unit they bluetooth to the tv, I suggest getting a pr. that will do that.

I have the Costco hearing aids. They work fine, They weren't cheap-about $2,000. I don't wear them much in public places as the sounds are still hard to separate. They're great for TV or places that are not crowded.

If you are functional without hearing aids then you have greater selection. Top quality is not required. A few considerations. Charge aids should last about 12 hours. You can put on the charger for 30 minutes and you should be good. Inconvenient when traveling. Batteries much easier to use. Some olds have dexterity problems that can be irritating. Behind the ear does not require a fitment and can easily be swapped out for a loaner if repair is needed. Some folks are uncomfortable with them when wearing glasses. In the canal requires a few days to get used to. Hearing aids used daily will last about 5-6 years.

I bought my COSTCO Kirkland Bluetooth hearing aids back in 2014, they were like $1,800 at the time. Still have them and wear them most of time. Back then for the dollar you could not beat them, no clue how they compare this day and time.

The wife picked up a pair of Kirkland Bluetooth ones used very little online a few years ago and still using and enjoying them. Glad she did. When these go we will be getting her another set, going good so far though.

I've been putting this off, too. Doesn't take much background noise at all to make words unintelligible. I was thinking Phonak was the vendor that made aids for Costco. Have not paid close attention since the deregulation took effect.

I have had Costco brand for 5 years, they work fine. Best part is bluetooth for the phone, etc.
