What does the forum think? The wife has lots of ants in her garden and the yard. For some strange reason the ants and skeeters love chomping on her (A+ blood). They bother me way less (O+ blood). I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
So what to use on the ants?
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

What kind of ants? I’ve had good luck with Extinguish Plus for fire ants.

Termidor. You can get it at www.domyownpestcontrol.comKills pretty much all bugs including termites.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Amdro is what we use in the garden area. That or mound drench (hort molasses, orange oil) if it's right on the plants.

This…Fipronil is the bomb, plus it stays around a lot longer(long half life), thus why we aren’t allowed use it on crops any more, similar to DDT. I wouldn’t use Fipronil around a creek or pond though. amdro is junk comparatively

if they are regular ants like carpenter ants/sugar ants etc. get some triazicide granules and spread them around, water right after you put down the first application.
kills grubs/ants/crickets and a whole slew of other pests.
if they are fire ants, I use the amdro granules, kick the top off the mound then dump about 1/2 cup on top of it, they are gone within a couple of hrs including the queen.

We use Bifren XTs mixed in a 2 gallon spray jug but not sure the garden would be a safe place to use it.

Another vote for Termidor. I used it on a recommendation, and it nuked every ant in my yard. I sprayed a 1' strip around the trunk of each tree, the foundation of my house, and my fence. I was trying to kill carpenter ants; the next day there was a fist-sized pile of them where they fell out of the nest under the eave of my house. I didn't see an ant of any kind for nearly a year. That's been 3-4 years and I still haven't seen a carpenter ant.
CAVEAT: I don't know that you should be spraying this around a garden. But you might be able to spray nearby fence/trees.
I've used the Triazicide shown above in some other cases, and felt it did pretty well too.
Good luck!

Look for "Atropine is antidotal" in the warning label. Now we're getting somewhere.
