Did the 'bury it under a feed tub' for nearly 5 months, deer was killed 12/28. Dug it up and took it to the carwash Saturday. Will have to do this again!

That's really cool.
What was your process? Skin/clean it, then bury? Bury just the skull? Antlers out of the dirt?

What was your process? Skin/clean it, then bury? Bury just the skull? Antlers out of the dirt? I didn't even skin it, Ernest T. I buried it in a corner of my barn the day after I took the deer, just the skull, leaving the antlers protruding. I turned over an empty liquid feed tub and put it over the skull and put a hunk of concrete on top so my sheep wouldn't bump the tub. Saturday I dug it up and took it to the carwash-in the pic it's fresh from the rinse job.

A good friend of mine invited me down to shoot a cull, his dad needed a cape for a larger buck he'd shot a week prior. His dad also formerly did euro mounts professionally. He did my cull buck for me. Its still one of the coolest bucks I've ever shot. Derpy as all get out.
