Was sitting here having my morning coffee and it dawned on me that I don’t know how to start my truck if the damn battery in the fob goes South.
Did a search but nothing helpful for a 2014 with key start rather than push button.
Anybody here experienced that unfortunate event and can enlighten me?
Thanks y’all and have a great weekend!!

I had this happen to me with my new 2023 Power Wagon the first time I went to my deer lease. Fortunately I had already researched it and knew what to do. On the ram, you hold the key fob against the start button and there is enough power from the start button to start the truck. And of course had it replaced under warranty. Your Ford is different. There should be a slot someplace to put your keyfob into like under or inside the back of your console or in a cup holder with the insert removed. With the keyfob in that slot, your truck will start.

To be clear yours does have a key?
If so it will operate fine without a battery. At least the boys 2012 does. His just died yesterday.
You can experiment and take the battery out and see what happens.

Disregard what I said then. If yours was before the change to push button, the slot I described will not be there. I would assume you can just use your physical key to unlock your truck and to start it. Like suggested, take the battery out and check.

I know the OP has a key start so this doesn't pertain to him, but for anyone who does want to know, the F150 keyfob slot is underneath the front cup holder.

Keep a spare battery in the truck if you have a key fob/push button start.

Just took the battery outta the fob and my truck fired right up! Guessing the battery is there to power the locks and alarm then right?
Would be nice to not have the alarm go off every time the button gets hit by accident 😅

I have a 2014 F150. Dropped my keys in the lake last summer getting out of the boat and then then truck wouldn't turn over or start. Fixed it by running to town, drying it out and replacing the battery.
I just figured it needs power to work at all.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Search on Amazon to see if there is a leather or rubber fob cover available that fits your key. I picked up a rubber one to fit my fob. I can still push all the buttons, but it made it less sensitive so completely eliminated accidental triggers. Plus gives it some protection from moisture and dirt considering I am out in the weather a lot.

Same here. Less gadgets, less hassle. Someday we will all have be retrained. But I have logged only 78000 mile on my 2015. Should a while before I have to retrain. My wife has an Infiniti. When I drive it, only feature I can operate while driving is the radio and blinkers. Anything else, I ask her or pull over and park untill I figure it out.

I went from a 95 F350 to a 99 Suburban, to a 2023 Power Wagon last year. Level 2 with almost every factory option one could add to it as well as some aftermarket stuff. Considering my quarter century jump, all the automated, computer, technology stuff on the PW still blows my mind.

Did a little experimenting with battery still out of the fob. I can lock and unlock the drivers side door now with the key and the alarm won’t go off and can still start my truck right up as well.
Kinda like that to be honest.Alarms aren’t gonna stop a thief who’s hell bent on stealing your truck.

Keep a spare battery in the truck if you have a key fob/push button start. Yep. In my Sonata, it's the same battery for the garage door remote. I had it happen a few weeks ago...freaked me out. The car's display told me to put the key fob against the start button and push and it would start...and it did! So glad I wasn't gonna have to push the car away from the gas pump. I didn't wanna be the guy needlessly taking up a gas pump.

Wife's Mercedes you pull the rubber cover off the push button start...insert the rectangular part of the key fob and turn like a traditional key.
