Last week my wife and her sister were in Florida at Walt Disney World and I was home in Arizona. I get a message, "We are hearing turkeys!" A few minutes later a picture. I tell her go out and make turkey noises and see what happens……nothing. I had an idea! Tell her to put her phone on speaker and turn the up all the way. I get the box call and sound off into my phone. Turkeys first gobbled back then started coming her way. Calling turkey from 2000 miles…. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/05/full-57808-420310-img_4611.jpeg)

Back in the day Ma Bell would have charged you a hefty fee for that.

those higher frequencies work! I agree, the sounds that seem higher frequencies to us seem to really evoke gobbling. When we got to truly studying ultrasonics, I found that turkeys don't hear frequencies higher than 15,000 Hz. Sounds above 20,000 Hz are consider ultrasonic. Adios, Gary

Some of the worst sounding yelps I’ve ever heard were made by turkey hens.
