My large zip ties are right next to my 40. High lift Jack is under the truck box. Gloves are, get this, in the glove box.

It's the "in your truck" part that gets me. I work in a shop and use WD40 daily but I don't need it with me at all times. I have everything else in the world in my truck.
jumper cables gas can toilet paper basic tools ratchet straps air compressor latex gloves cargo net spare shoes warm changes of clothes cool changes of clothes spare socks pullover sweater hand warmers knit hat cold weather gloves glass breaker lock out kit flashlight rain poncho umbrella couple clean towels tire plug kit
I am going to the store today and I'm adding duct tape, WD40, and zip ties to the list. Pretty good list. I also always have: - hatchet - axe - chainsaw - files to sharpen above - various size shackles and clevis' - chain - come along - 30,000 lb recovery straps - MAPPs turbo torch with at least 2 bottles of fuel - rubber mallet - shovel - paracord - Silva compass - first aid kit - some water, beef jerky and peanuts that gets rotated as i eat/drink it - sleeping bag - tarpaulin - standard tools - hammer, socket set, screwdrivers, channel locks etc... Problem is it all takes space and typically there is no room in the back seat for passengers.

I think if your truck has less than a 6foot bed then your man card should be revoked

My list is pretty short compared to some. I will say if I lived I. A climate where freezing was a fear my packing list would be different.

WD-40 is not bad stuff, it’s available everywhere, has a pleasant odor imo. It’s a decent penetrating oil, has gotten a lot of things unstuck for me. So has tifco and a number of penetrating oils though.
Good synthetic sewing machine oil… wish I could get THAT in a aerosol can. That stuff is fan freaking tastic.

My list is pretty short compared to some. I will say if I lived I. A climate where freezing was a fear my packing list would be different. Yep -30 or even -40 and 100 miles from nearest cell signal and things look a whole lot different. For me it’s just plenty of food and water, a variety of hot hands and lots of em, cold weather gear, and wool under everything. Snow chains of course. And a way to make fire. I usually have a way to “make meat”. But this is living out of a big rig, making runs to places like whitefish montana or international falls, etc and I have room for all this crap in there. $20 or more is money well spend for good merino socks. But there are good options in the $15 price range. Keep a couple pairs of wool socks and couple pairs of extreme cold gloves on the defroster with the heat cranked all the way up. That is because i unload the trailers and there is no dock. So i will spend a solid 6-8 hours in the weather, good to rotate fresh hot socks and gloves every half hour or so working in -44 degrees. A good pair of ski goggles is not a bad idea for windy days well below zero but i just can’t stand to wear that stuff so i cover my face and squint lol. The floor of the trailer gets so cold, if you stand on the metal portions for a couple minutes it sucks all the heat right out of your feet, so forget about it. Even with a pair of hot hands in each boot. I could not honestly give you my packing list, I just kinda throw a bunch of stuff together that makes sense and any time i see something i might could use that doesn’t cost a arm and a leg I add it. Isn’t that what we all do?

Yep. No lithium and it won’t stick. the WD40 has a WHITE LITHIUM GREASE specialist can. I keep a can of it in the mule and truck. Not a grease gun but helps in a pinch.

Keep a small ice chest with a few waters, small tool box with the basics: few screwdrivers. side cutter pliers, channel locks, needle nose, hammer, etc. under the back seat is a fly rod, bolt cutters, gloves, rope, zip ties, road flares, small fly box, .22 lever action and 100 rounds of ammo, ratchet set, screwdriver set and a fleece jacket and boonie hat. Usually have some food in the form of trail mix or non-perishable snack.
Enough stuff so if I get in pinch I can either get myself out of it or be comfortable waiting it out.

I have most of that in another pack stored other than in the truck. There is no room for passengers in the back of my truck (because of the golf bag mainly) but no one ever rides with me. If someone needs to, I can ditch a couple things quickly.
Pass the gravy.
