Started on them as a 15 year old farm/ranch hand. I’m now 81. I’ve probably quit and later started back a dozen or so times. They were calling me on a daily basis.

Then, somewhere around a year ago, I decided to not do them anymore. I’m still off and have had no withdrawal issues. No longer think about them and it doesn’t bother me being around a smoker.

I started them sometime in my early teens. Did it for years. Sometimes, at sea, with sea store cigarettes I would smoke a couple packs a day, but I was "on watch" from local sunset to local sunrise" and still have pull maintenance on my gear and keep up with the "intel library." Finally got off of them maybe 10 years ago, but I dip now. A can of dip usually lasts about 3 days. Whole lot cheaper. My Doctor, believe it or not, is in his 70's and says no problem (seriously) said his mom dipped until she died at 92. Matter of fact is I'm doing some Red Seal, long cut wintergreen, as I type this.

I prefer some Levi Garrett. i actually read it removes tarter build up on your teeth. There ya go.

Smoked off and on 5-6 years in/around college. I quit 26 years ago. I don't mind if you smoke as long as I'm upwind but I hate cigarette smoke with a passion. Won't go in a bar where it's allowed.

Good job Dave on the quitting. Make sure to get a chest x-ray every year during your annual check up. I didn't and had to pay the price with surgery.

There was a French woman who lived to be 122 named Jeanne Louise Calment. She was interviewed on her 118th birthday and was asked how she had lived for so long. She replied " Well, I gave up drinking and smoking last year. She passed away in 1997'.

I can’t tell which one I hate worse . Smoking or quitting smoking it’s not going well for me at least 😄

In my 20s when even bar in town was cloaked in smoke I came to regard the taste of cigarettes and alcohol on a woman's breath to be a turn on. If I was tasting it I was getting some.
