Does anyone have suggestions on what to look for in a feeder light? Any recommended products on the market?

If you want to get out cheap, Walmart has an 8 pack of solar powered yard lights for $20. Tie wrap them to your feeder legs and T-posts around the fence. Eight of them give off a decent amount of light.

Would the solar powered motion activated lights spook the hogs when the light came on? I think it would be perfect if it doesn't spook them. Anyone use them for hogs?

The hogs will get used to it over time. You could always go get some clear red tape at the auto parts store, the stuff for temporarily repairing tail lights. Tape over the bulb and you have a red light.

The light coming on does not effect them at all. I have killed MANY hogs out from under a motion light, and quite a few off this forum have killed hogs under my motion light also. You can see the shadow from the light to the right of the pic.

I tried one of those lights and found that it did spook hogs especially when the battery is low (even with a solar charger)they make a clicking sound. What I found works for me is 2-led 12volt droplights that run all night on a 12v feeder battery.I put red lense tape on them (from auto parts store) to tone down the light.Put them up high shining down and away from you,or use red led clearance lights and feeder battery.

i bought a set of 3 lights + solar panel at home depot. They come on at dusk, turn off at sunrise (though by morning they are very dim).
In the evening the lights are normally on before the pigs show up, and it does not seem to bother them. They come on every night, whether i'm hunting or not so they are use to it.
I think i paid 35.00. they come with flat brackets and ground stakes, i just used self tapping screws and mounted everything to the barrel.
I'm thankful for the things i have and all the things i don't
