Our ranch in Coleman county is covered. We always called them "pop rocks". If you wonder why, throw a handful in a campfire.
Just lucky nobody ever lost an eye.

They were all over one hill of my uncle's property near Bowie. They sold that part of the land about 20 years ago. You could just pick up handfuls of them on that hill, which we called Crinoid Hill, naturally.
