Remington 788 in .223 Remington: This rifle wears a Ramline* (I think) synthetic stock. I have not owned this one nearly as long as the .222 Rem listed in another thread. This .223 is as accurate as the .222 is (5 shots in 1/2" is easily doable), but the only bullets I have used in it are Nosler 50-gr. Ballistic Tips. I have used Benchmark, TAC, & X-Terminator in this rifle with complete satisfaction. This rifle is equipped with a Timney trigger, an EGW (I think) rail, and Warne steel 1" rings. Comes with one magazine.

* I may very well be wrong about the stock. If I was ever told who made it I have forgotten. It may be Uncle Mike's, but I don't know and I'm not even sure I remember them offering stocks, but it seems like they did at one time. I'm digging around through some old catalogs I've kept over the years. What I do know is that the stock is not like the flimsy tupperware stocks I have seen so many of. This one is nice and rigid like my B&Cs and HS Precision stocks.
I'll keep looking to see if I can positively identify it.
What you see on the muzzle is a Capplug. I store rifles muzzle down in the safe and use a Capplug to protect the crown. I forgot to remove it for the pic.
