Lost 8 pounds this go round. I was up to 210 before I started. Much easier this time around. Feel very good. Did a couple things different this go round. Did a deep tissue massage the first day in. Did a long walk 2nd day and an ice bath the 3rd day. I did my stretching routine each night. I'm easing my way back into food again. Had cloud bread for lunch today and will have a small meal tonight. Two small meals again tomorrow then back to my normal one meal a day beginning Saturday.

What is the goal of this fast? I’ve been seeing a lot of people going on water fasts lately

For the fast. What is your intake during those three days?

Roger that. Is there a routine for that intake, say, every morning a 10 oz cup of coffee, then two hours later you drink 16 oz water, etc.?

Glass of water first thing, then a cup of coffee, then water all day long and Green tea in afternoon. No set time.
Yes, I would add a little sea salt to the water for electrolytes.

You get a little tired at times but otherwise I did really well. I eat one meal a day and I am used to going longer periods without eating.

I used to do a 5.5 day fast early each year. The hardest part about it comes in Day 2 or 3 and then it's pretty sustainable after that. You have to ween yourself off caffeine, sugars, alcohol, etc for a few days prior to starting. It's amazing how your body continues to eliminate waste while not eating.

I’d love to hear more about this . Why she did it , how she felt, etc. Did it ever get easier?

That's impressive progress! I've attempted fasting before, but it wasn't quite my cup of tea. I've been curious about adopting a holistic lifestyle lately. Has anyone here tried that? From what I've gathered, it's about integrating various aspects of well-being to achieve overall health - kind of like nurturing the mind, body, and soul altogether. Found this guide, and the idea is to focus not just on what you eat but also on regular movement, mindful eating practices, and prioritizing restful sleep. It's about finding balance and harmony within yourself and your surroundings. I'm planning to give it a shot and see how it goes.

Once your body gets into a state of ketosis, it burns fat rather than sugar for energy. As long as you have enough bodyfat you theoretically could fast for a year or more. People have done it. Longest I've ever done is 48 hours. After about 24 hours your body and brain get into a high-level flow state and your senses and conscience are heightened and perform at a higher level than when you are eating regularly. This is part of our internal wiring from when we were hunter gatherers, on long hunts the men had to go without food for days and the increased focus is part of our fight or flight system to help us hunt to survive.

Why easing your way back in to food? Last time I did a 40 hour fast(longest I've ever done) , I think I broke it with chicken fried steak with all the trimmings.

That'd be quite a shock to the system and difficult for your body to digest. I could foresee spending a good amount of time on the toilet.

For a short fast like that its not a problem but when doing 3 days or more you have to go slow. It can cause sever problems and even death if not careful. Your stomach lining has to basically repair itself, so small easy to digest meals to get started. On another note, I don't think I would go through the trouble to fast just to ruin all the hard work with a chicken fry, lol.

Early man would usually go 2-3 days between any kind of substantial meal.
Pre -European influence, it is interesting to study what day to day life consisted of. Basically it was sitting around, sleeping and looking for food.
Occasionally you would get laid or get in a fight.
Almost always on the move, you would migrate with animal herds and as weather dictated.
And you didn’t expect to live very long.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
