I believe you shot that big buck right in the head

Great year for me. Started off with a Trophy Aoudad, which has been the first and only one ever seen on our property. Then got my target buck on the last day of season.

Pretty good for me. Didn't kill any monsters, but my grandson was with me for all my kills. He's hooked on the deer lease. Campfire and s'mores helps grin

Hunt WITH your kids... NOT for them

Putting my new CZ Drake 20 gauge through its paces was the highlight for me. Took a bunch of squirrels with it on the Trinity River bottoms drawn hunt, and also bagged dove and snipe on other hunts. Just finished up the last of the squirrels with a nice stew.

Got my allotted Buck, one buck county. Shot a dozen Pigs with my new, first ever thermal rig. That was a hoot.

As a family it was a great season. Got Drawn for 3 Youth Hunts, 2 adult standby's and still have 1 more adult Hog hunt in April.
We did not have success on all the hunts, but we did have a great time on each.
Total on Public so far was 2 Hog's and a Nilgai on the ground, along with seeing plenty of animals that were too far for ethical shots or would not present a good shot opportunity.
Shot numerous Hog's on our lease and I passed several shooter Bucks hoping they would show when the boy was in the stand with me, but they never did.
