I bought the "small" loaf of Mrs. Bairds from Tom Thumb in Frisco. Never a bad one.

Mrs. Baird's Bread and their brown & serve rolls were great. Then they sold out and changed the recipe. They also fired all of their delivery drivers and allowed them to buy back their routes as independent contractors. One I know stayed with them for a while and then sold his route and said adios.

I remember them making some kind of flat roll /biscuits (in between a biscuit and a roll) when I was growing up. They came in a thin rectangular foil container that you could put them in the oven and bake them. They were awesome. Don`t know why they quit making them.

If you are tired of store bought bread then go to Historic Downtown McKinney to Bresnan Bread and Pastries. My daughter and husband own and operate it and will be there pretty much every day to insure their sourdough is nothing but the best.
