just curious what people are getting for their trapped hogs theses days near jacksboro .

I haven't heard of anybody buying hogs yet, our buyer in wichita says maybe soon.

better off keeping them and putting in the freezer or having a bar-b-q block party.

The local outfit here in Gonzales isn't buying anymore. They couldn't get their money from the "Company" in Devine that buys all the hogs down here. One man here was hauling hogs for the "Company" in Devine and couldn't get paid either. They have turned it over to the Lawyers

Prolly get more taking them off a farmers land than selling them

It used to be Staton Wild Hogs, but he sold out to Pish, it is located at the Gonzales Livestock Mkt. on 90A west.

Yes, that was Roy Staton, he lived out on the greenwood hills rd. He moved his operation to the Gonzales Livestock Mkt, did business there for a while. He then sold to the Pish boys and then they shut down.

id have to get more than .10 a pound to take any hogs all the way to ft worth.

There is another slaughter house down around SA but i don't know if they buy direct. i don't have their # either.

Called a guy in north texas around wichita falls today and he is getting:

80-100: .10
101-150: .15
151+ : .20

101 and up get a $5 a head bonus.

Still not worth the driving distance...you'll spend more on gas and time that what you'll get paid. Sure is nice to have a bounty on them beginning Nov. 1st, plus a contest.

My girlfriends mom buys them for southern and the prices are.
LOCATED IN CHEROKEE inbetween Llano and San Saba
80-100lbs is 10 cents
101-150lbs is 15 cents with a $5 Bonus
151+ is 20 cents a $5 bonus

Not that bad of prices. People just got spoiled when they use to have a $20 bonus for every thing over 100 pounds including me. I would make $400-$500 a week.

man they are low..... it would cost me money to dirve em to the sale unless i had like a 200 pounder and then id just barely break even lol.
