I purchased this feeder 6 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. It continues to jam due to the weight of the hopper pressing on the motor/plate. Does anyone know how to lower the plate to give more room? I keep putting the PVC spacers, about 1 inch long, between the hopper and varmint plate, but they always get vibrated out. Any ideas or suggestions?

Just a suggestion that might work if there is enough room.
Drill into both plates and then take an all-thread rod and four small nuts
with some lock washers. Push rod up through first hole then put on 2 of the nuts and washers and
work them down the rod a little bit. Then when you go through top plate put another nut and washer on the top of it.
Also put the last one on the bottom of the threaded rod. Then tighten up nuts and washers to
create a spacer you need. Hope this makes sense and if not maybe it will give you another idea.
Basically you end up with an all-thread rod with a nut and washer on the top, then you have the top
plate then under that you have another washer and nut and then on the bottom plate you end up
with another washer and nut on both sides of that plate. Again I am not sure you have enough room
and will probably need some long needle nose pliers to help tighten up those nuts. Good luck.

I’ve been running 2 of the buc-ees for a few years now and never had such a problem my guess is you’re spinner plate is adjusted to high. I just filled my 2 up to the rim and my spinners are not even close to rubbing

Been running mine for 2 years no issues. Call them and ask about issues I'm sure they will try and make it right.

I am running 3 of these currently. The only problem I have ever had was on initial set up on one of the feeders, I had the motor set to low to keep most of the corn inside the feed pen. It did not have enough "spin" to clear the corn on the plate. I bumped it up to medium and it's worked fin ever since.

There have been many on here talk about them and almost never heard any issues. Weve had several for years with no issue like you described. I really cant quite figure out the issue as you describe it. The room between the plates should be fairly fixed. There is some adjustment on the height of spinner. Maybe take a pic for us if you cant figure it out.

I had a similar problem with an Academy Sports feeder. I bought two of the new pre-assembled ones with the plate below the spinner to keep critters out. Both started to jam days after setting them up. Corn would get stuck between the plate and the bottom of the spinner cup. At first I used a cloths hanger to push out and remove the corn to unclog it. I finally decided surgery was necessary. I dropped the plate disassembled the motor and spinner cup. I put a small 1/8" thick nut under the cup lifting it off the plate below by the 1/8". There wasn't room for a thicker nut. Put it all back together. Repeated the process on the second feeder. Worked like a charm, I've never had an issue since.

Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

Anybody been by Bucees lately and noticed the feeder prices? My closest is almost 50 miles away.

Yes, I bought a 400lb one there some years ago for my dedicated pig feeder but they’re not showing that one on their website anymore. Don’t want a 600lb one.

I don't remember if it was on their site when I bought mine or not, but they had a lot of them. They got a lot in Jacksboro also.

I ended up buying a 600# at TSC. I went there for the 350# but the wife talked me into the big one.

Haha! My wife’s a hunter, but also knows there’s value in not having to fill feeders so often.
