 PNC Bank closes my business account unexpectedly

On Super Bowl Sunday about 5:30, I go to log in to my bank account, and I can't log in. The only available help I can find on a Sunday evening is the small chat box on the bank's website. After getting to a person and 45 minutes of confirming identity on my account, I was informed the account is closed. My comment is What do you mean it's closed!!? I was told by PNC.. "As a customer, you have the right to choose who you bank with. At PNC, we have the right to choose who we bank with. We are calling on that right and closing your account." I was told this twice by a separate person the next Monday. There is no other reason as to why they closed the account. PNC is listed as a gun friendly bank. But I think this has changed. I was originally with Compass Bank, then they were bought out by BBVA, and they were bought out by PNC. I've finally got everything under control. I've never seen such blatant sabotage to disrupt a business.

Same exact thing just happened to me on my CBD business. Bank said they were closing it and there was no appeal process basically they didn't want my business anymore.

They may be discriminating against you because of the black cherry pie rifle. After seeing the pics of it, what they did might meet the burden of proof for a hate crime

My wife had a account with BBVA with very little money in it, no reason really to keep it open or close it. However, once PNC bought them out she closed it quickly, she did it on the premise of certain practices I really didn't dive into with her.

If you get them disclosing that they closed your account because the nature of your business, I think it is worth to contact the State AG. Texas legislature passed SB19 during 2021. SB19

i don't want to do business with someone who doesn't want to do business with me. I would rather be w a credit union They are doing this to a lot of people even gold and silver businesses

I'm having pretty good luck with First United. Locally owned and operated with sound conservative values. That being said, every time you find a good local bank for your business they get bought up by someone bigger down the road, think this is my 4th one in the past 20 years. Just like Paypal. They cancelled many of my orders without a word. Just happens to be gun/ammo related orders. They are no longer a viable place to do business with.

PayPal, Zelle, Venmo and many others are also heavy anti gun. They do NOT allow firearm related transactions. I know several companies who's accounts were frozen by PayPal for gun related purchases. One was a used brass guy and he lost over $3K through PayPal. They said he was dealing in items that are prohibited through their site.

PNC is one of the worst banks I have ever used. I had a biz acct with BBVA, within days of the sale and rebranding to PNC it went to hell. I went into the former BBVA branch where I was very familiar with the manager and a few tellers and they looked like they were living in hell with all the PNC BS.

I use Glacier Bank up here. Never seen friendlier people. Let me transfer funds from old Houston account just by showing them a balance on my phone. Made all funds available immediately. Kind of blew my mind a bit.
