“Dead people music”…heck, that’s what I like, though I never thought of it that way. Lefty Frizzell, Marty Robbin’s, Patsy Kline, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Reba, Tanya Tucker, Gene Watson, Billy Joe Royal, and too many more to list.

I was blasting along in my truck the other day, listening to dead people music (country version) and on came “I love this bar” by a favorite recently departed country singer. I immediately started singing backup and he and I just killed it. How can a person not like that song. We’ve all been to that bar…

Sure wish Limestone County had a bar that’s worthy of being called that.

95.9 the ranch in fort worth

99.1 in Kerrville

Otherwise it’s CD’s

There are probably more than 100 good “new” artists out there, just have to look for them.

What about Charlie Crocket?

I’ve been listening to Wyatt Flores lately, probably not country to some people though…

603, Tanya Tucker is still alive, 65 years old.

Truth. Good country music is still being produced. It just doesn't show up at the Country Music Awards.

Country isn’t over. Don’t listen to the mainstream radio. There are still plenty of artists, new and upcoming, that put out some really good music. You’re just not going find them on the radio.

Waylon's music really rattled traditional country music fans of the time and brought up the similar sentiments to what we are seeing in this thread. Waylon is my favorite by the way and age will be 59 this year.

The guy playing the combo guitar seems pretty tweaked out.

Cuntry music has become lame and the general listening public is to blame. They make what you (someone) buys. All the songs have the same keywords rearranged in a different order to a pop song background with a banjo added. Add the fake southern accent. Funny how the Beatles don't sound British when they're singing, you can't tell Mel Tillis was a stutterer when he sang, but these douchies sing with so much twang it sounds like they're gonna choke on their tongues.

I like how we mention Waylon was considered an outlaw but the video posted is pre-hepititis Waylon without the beard and long hair.

There is a reason Red Dirt was invented but now it's watered down as well.

Pass the gravy.

I have Amazon music and their music and musicians choices are endless. I made two music playlists, country (Hank, George, Tanya, Merle, Conway, etc) and rock (AC/DC, Journey, Ozzy, Frampton, Eagles, etc). If I hear an old song on the radio I'll go Amazon and look for it and almost every time it's there and I'll add it to my playlist. Currently I have 263 songs (19 hrs 9 min) of old rock music and country stands at 346 songs (19 hrs 49min).

I heard that Bounce song on the radio twice this week. It doesn't sound like country.

I think they make music based on what the teenagers or young 20-somethings buy. That demographic is still very much wrapped up in music and always desiring something new. They're the ones paying for the music. It has much less to do with folks like us. We're content to just keep listening to our classics.

I thought it sounded pretty decent compared to the other stuff that is mainstream country. The only reason I listened was because of all the "country people" bitching about it on social media.

Some of the best country music ever made has been produced in the last 20 years in my opinion, but very little of it is played on the radio and you don't see them on tv because they don't bother with Nashville.

Right, sad.

Turnpike Troubadours are not country, they're "red dirt". They're decent but not country.

Wow. Now, that’s some music. What a song. Even the video was great. No nonsense. Just great music and the fellas making it. Well done, Paluxy.
