What would be a good all livestock seed for pastures, that would also be good for deer, turkey, quail?

Cows and deer have different foods groups, cows are grazers and deer are browsers. Turley and quail are neither grazers or browsers.

any of your native switch or indian grass. Also some buffalo grass varieties that are great. My advice from a guy thats got a bunch of CRP. Dont do blends, try to go straight which ever you decide. You can call Local FSA off also and sew what they recommend.

The wild life benefit normally cones from the thermal and fawning/hatching cover benefit more so than feed, feed is normally insect and forbes quaility. So grazing is your key regulator on use

I’ve generally gone with fertilized wheat. They like it and I’ve found that they pass by any unfertilized areas that I left natural as a test. Biggest challenge is hogs rooting up the whole thing. Couldn’t plant the last couple of years due to lack of subsoil moisture during the drought. Maybe this year.

Call Turner Seed in Breckenridge. They could best answer that question, and they can mix whatever you want.

You may want to call your local TPW office and speak with their biologist. The biologist in my area was very helpful when I converted 100 acres of wheat into native grasses.

FSA/NRCS can possibly help offset your costs. See what programs are available.
