Went to our club's lease yesterday. Found five of our feeders on the ground. Two of the guys are breaking our their night vision gear. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/02/full-45444-413204-wanted.jpg)

Yeah. We have 10 guys in the club and each one has two or three feeders out. Some are stand and fill, but most are tripod types. We've had this lease 26 years and this is the first time we've had feeders knocked over. But that big guy has recently learned to do it.

Agree with Wilhunt. TPosts wired to legs.

Honest question, do you have pics of him doing it? Seems odd he would dump so many, and also leave corn behind.

No, we don't have any pictures of the crime. But the feeder in that picture is the only one of five knocked over feeders that had any corn left on the ground. It should have had over 200 lbs. of corn in it, and there was a lot less than that left on the ground. I think his belly was full. We found one of the feeders empty and beat up at the edge of the food plot, about twenty yards from where it was standing.

Step one is to get long legs. Next step is TPosts driven in and wired to each post. An easy stand and fill feeder is tough to defend. I Fill my feeders with a grandson in the bucket of a front end loader but a ladder will work.

We have ten guys in the club and each member has three or more feeders. So there's a variety of feeder set-ups. Here's mine.

We found one of the feeders empty and beat up at the edge of the food plot, about twenty yards from where it was standing. I caught one in action, they lean into the legs till they give in. We stopped them (as mentioned) with T post driven and tied to each leg. Note the position of the left leg, if pigs could smirk... ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/02/full-42624-413343-pig_vs_feeder_1_zpsz9g4xywz1.jpg) He pushes out on the left leg ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/02/full-42624-413337-pig_vs_feeder_2_zps17fd7rjt.jpg) It would have made my day if that pig got squished by 320 pounds of corn.

No. Thankfully. Nearest bear sighting was about 30 miles from our lease.

My feeder legs were at a big angle and bolted as we had hogs also. The wider the angle the more steady the feeder. The same with my blind.

What ya have will work if you just add a 15 ft. 2x4 across opposite your latter and anchor that with steaks attached to the wide 2x4.

I should've made myself more clear: the 15ft. 2x4 needs to be on the ground or anchored by two steaks on the ends and drove into the ground. Just laying the 2x4 on the ground is what I would do as it doesn't need the steaks as with the spread the hog can't lift the feeder enough to turn it over. Your steak attached to the ladder looks good but it has to be at an opposite angle from the ladder (appear to be an "X". The way it is now the ladder when lifted up the steak pulls out easy. However, you may be surprised how hard the feeder is to turn over with just the 2x4 added on the ground even without steaks.
