Looks like you were in the Imperial area. Use to be a abandoned bridge in the area, That part od the Pecos use to be nasty brackish water. Think killing some of the willows and cedars helped water quality.

When my brother and I traveled together to hunt, we would often stop at the Historical markers to read them. Lots of good info on them.
