when there is so much water everywhere and the birds are spread out, but if you walk long enough it can be done. Rosie did me well yesterday.

Congrats. I'm still scared to shoot a snipe. I"ve looked at a hundred pictures and I'm still worried I'll shoot the wrong bird. I've listened to sound. I can just see me proudly coming home with a brace of plovers.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Nice limit, the most I've ever gotten was three. They are definitely my favorite quarry for wingshooting. What's your preferred choke/load?

Well, it is why they call me Sniper John. I'm sitting in my truck taking a break from Snipe hunting right now. Tough day getting more exercise than birds, but the weather is nice. The dog and I are enjoying the day. Normally I would be using #7 or #6 steel no less than 1300 fps loads if possible. The #6 for far flushing birds or windy days. IC or M choke or both in the double barrel. This season I have been using g some 7 1/2 upland steel and 6 1/2 steel Cyl and LM chokes. Working well for me for a high shot to kill ratio, but I have to pass on long shots. Break over.
