Yes I was worried about you so I reminded you. Also didn’t know this was a 4 month old thread, my bad.

If you are talking about the Jameson, nah it will stay sealed until I either re-gift it or see if there are some neat mixed drinks to use it for, gut feeling I will have it for awhile.

I’m not an Irish whiskey guy myself. Don’t care for scotch whiskey at all either.

There are some really good irish whiskeys that dont taste at all like jameson or anything like scotch.

While i like jameson, i also have enjoyed redbreast, green spot, knappoque castle, yellow spot, powers, bushmills, several of the varietals from waterford distillery….

I am not a peated whiskey person. Those are like the smokey scotch, not a fan. But lots of good Irish whoskey that wpuld fit right in at any good whiskey/bourbon bar.

A trip to ireland will turn most american whiskey drinkers on to a lot of good irish whiskeys.

Technically a flavored whiskey, and the only flavored one I drink. Highly recommend

I regularly sip a shot or two of Pecan Praline flavored Canadian Whiskey. Select brands from Total Wine

I'd love to say that the fact that I don't drink flavored whiskeys is because of the taste, but there is a bit of me that feels like a high school kid sneaking a Smirnoff Ice from the cooler at a BBQ when I do. That being said, it is less about the shame I feel deep down in places I don't talk about, and more about the fact that most flavored whiskeys are TOO DAMN flavored. I wouldn't mind a hint of this or that occasionally, but seems like most of them taste way too strongly of the flavoring, and not the whiskey. All that sugar/flavoring upsets my stomach more than anything.

So for the most part, I take my whisky, scotch, and tequila straight or on the rocks. cheers

I prefer just “normal” whiskey and bourbon….

However, I like a good Long Island here and there and don’t mind a vanilla crown and coke from time to time or a peach crown and sweet tea.

If I’m drinking it straight it’s never flavored.

I’m with Superduty. Not into mixing and adding stuff. Most of you guys won’t put beans into your chili, but you don’t mind messing up your whisky. Strange!

I typicaly don't like flavored whiskey or bourbon. However, Rabbit Hole Dareringer is one I love. it is finished in Sherry Casks and offers a change to my typical lineup.

603 it is nice to mix it up every once in a while. Kind of like when I would get tired of just dating prim and proper beauty queens, every now and then I like to have a woman a little on the trashy side wink

You guys don't keep a bottle of fireball in your side by side during the winter?

Other than that, I like my whiskey unflavored so I can flavor it myself or not.

At Total Wine & More: Garrison Brothers HoneyDew Bourbon Whiskey 750ml $72.99. eeks333

At that price, it would have to be way special for me to spend that type of $$

Garrison Bro's is definitely pricey stuff. We took the tour in Hye a few years back...neat way to kill an hour and sample the product. Signed up to be a "volunteer" and spend a day bottling, polishing, labeling, boxing, etc...they feed you good, hourly quality control shots, parting gifts and 1/2 price liquor purchases. No way I would pay retail prices.
