I'm looking for 12ga A Semi-auto but unsure of which is the best gun for the money. I like Remington 1100. Mostly dove hunting.. Thanks for your input CRS

check out the escort brand semi-auto's they are a good shootin gun. I shot my buddies last year during dove season. I was quite surprised because they are very affordable.

I'd go with a used rem. 1100. They are cheap, parts are available everywhere, and imo they are built much better than todays remington autos.

I'd second that suggestion.

Don't know what your budget will handle, but I bought a FRANCHI I-12 last year. I really like it. It only has one drawback that I have experienced- it does not like shells with 3 drams or less powder. I heard all kinds of horror stories about them (along with multiple stories of praise), but thus far so good. I mainly use mine for some dove, pheasants, chukars, ducks / geese & turkey.

The Franchi has an adjustable recoil system IIRC. You twist the magazine tube nut to adjust it.
They are great guns! The middle managements Benelli ;-)

Hard to beat a good Remmy 1100. Reliable and works flawlessly. Great parts availibility, easy for you to work on or modify, and most gunsmiths can easily repair them if needed. Kind of the American standard of auto shotguns.

I have a Rem 1100 but for pattern, reliability, and comfort I use my Benelli Cordoba 12ga. or my Benelli M2 20ga. The M2 is light and super handling.

used benelli. because used benelli's are the same as new functionally, seldom wear out.

This is the first year I have ever shot Benelli, found a used SBE1 for my son and if he is not with me I shoot it. No recoil handles cheap shells, very light, just all around a great gun. I have had 1100s and will never own another, too much jamming for my taste. I have also had the Berreta 390, I will probably be on the lookout for another SBE.

Benellis dont kick, you have lost your freaking mind. Benellis are one of the more recoiling semi autos out there. This is due to the inertia action instead of gas. Learn to clean an 1100 and do it occasionally and it wont jam. Get a little sand and mud on the old benelli there and watch it turn into a single shot. If you want a gun with less kick get a beretta with kick off, it has less perceived recoil than any shot gun out there. 1100 is a great dove gun, but I would go ahead and get it in a magnum version or get an 11-87 so you can soot 3" shells if you want to duck hunt too. Beretta 390 or 391 is a great choice also. 390 is one of the most durable guns ever made according to dove guides in argentina. Those guns get fired more than any other in hunting situations bar none.

Benellis are extremly durable. I shot them in Argentina on a dove hunt. I can't say that I didn't have any problems ( I had two guns fail in three days ) , but I was putting 1500 rds a day through them. Back home I shoot Browning A5's. I have had very few problems. Some off my A5's are 75+ years old and still going stong. I'm sure that Benellis are more dependable in extreme conditions, so when I am in Argentina I'll borrow a Benelli, and when I am in Texas I will own A5's.

My 11 yr old doesn't think the recoil is bad either? And I dont need to LEARN to clean anything been doin it 40 yrs 1100s left a bad taste in my mouth including the 1187 premier. These are my opinions, the guy asked which auto and I gave my opinion. Get a few more than 6 posts before you sling mud!
