Saw it on Netflix last night. Saw the preview, and could not remember anything about it, I just remembered my step dad (RIP) taking me when it came out in 1974, I was a kid. I clicked play just to bring back old memories of him, not knowing anything about the move. Really interesting the politics back then, I guess Hollywood was pro gun back then, in the movie the crime rate went down in NY because of Charles. I guess I need to watch Death Wish 2 now.

“Once a mild-mannered liberal, New York City architect Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) snaps when intruders break into his home, murdering his wife (Hope Lange) and violently raping his daughter. A business trip to Tucson, Ariz., lands him a gift from a client, a revolver he uses to patrol the streets when he returns home. Frustrated that the police cannot find the intruders, he become a vigilante, gunning down any criminal that crosses his path. The public finds this vigilantism heroic.”

Hollywood was and still is pro box office bucks. The epitome of prostitution.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

Love those movies.

Always puzzles me the way the cops are more interested in catching the vigilante than the actual criminals. Life imitates Art I guess.

Also, I used to watch Death Wish ( among others) with my dad. Apparently in the 80’s it was acceptable for a 4 year old kid.

Always wanted a Wildley .45 mag after I saw one in the 3rd movie.

The original Death Wish starring Charles Bronson is a great movie. The remake with Bruce Willis is good too.

Fun fact: Charles Bronson was married to Jill Ireland who was posted in the throwback Humpday this week. He was buried with a cane containing her ashes, says the Internet.

Maybe Reagan being governor at the time had something to do with it?

Elizabeth Shue is the best part of the new remake

What I thought was funny about the movie was the miss handling of guns, they were always point them at each other lol.

He was big into fitness and if you read his story its pretty inspirational.

Proper muzzle and trigger disciplines are rare.
