Just curious if anyone has had a chance to put hands on a CZ600 American with the walnut stock. The bolt apparently has two rows of three-lugs and a 60 degree throw. While I understand there has been the recent dustup over the recall on the swappable barrel versions, the available CZ promo material (which is about as much info as I can currently dig up) depicts a simple bolt action rifle, not swappable, with a very interesting bolt and an adjustable trigger with four settings. It also has a press down(?), tang safety and threaded barrel.

Hadn't even heard of these, but would bet they are fine rifles. CZ doesn't put out second-rate stuff. I see some of the models have aluminum receivers. Wondering if the bolt lugs lock into extensions of the barrel for steel-to-steel on these models.

I just got the Alpha in .308. I am a lefty, but always shoot a RH bolt. This felt very comfortable. The trigger is great. Started out with some Federal 168 grain match to see where I was hitting. It shot okay but nothing great. I then used some of my loads that I had developed for a Bergara. 168 Accubonds. Was able to get a group just over .5. I shot it today and have not been able to get a good measure on it. I was impressed with the rifle.

Look to be running around $775 for the American. They have barrel lengths from 18-24". With the lugs I did see that they lock with the barrel and are supposed to be really reliable. QuitShooting, the sale was still on but I didn't see anything about a rebate. I'd be shooting factory loads as I don't reload. The only thing I can see on spec sheets that I'm not terribly crazy about is the 9/16 x 24 thread. How common/uncommon is that compared to the 5/8 x 24?

Correction: 165 Accubonds (gee). The group measure at .573 I was shooting suppressed.
