After peaking at over 1.42 billion in 2021, current forecasts project that China's population will shrink by over 100 million people by 2050. By the end of the century, China's population may dwindle to less than 800 million, with more dire scenarios putting the figure at less than 500 million

By the end of the century, China's population may dwindle to less than 800 million, with more dire scenarios putting the figure at less than 500 million China allocats money to the Provinces based on self reported population numbers. They recently admitted that they have overstated their population by about 200 million people. The average age in China is late 60s and climbing. They are in an unrecoverable demographic death spiral and they know it. By 2100 China in the form of the CCP will not have existed for probably 40 years and their population will be about 1/3rd of what they are claiming today if even that much.
