Maybe because alcohol is a stimulant? Unless you speedball it with something else it’s a depressant. I thought speedball was combo of herion and cocaine, and that was a speedball I just googled it and it is and upper and downer combo

I have a full bar but rarely drink anything but fruit brandy. I have to be careful because it goes down so easy. I always see older cats getting Brandy in the Liquor store Gonna have to give it a try one time

I have zero problem going to sleep. And less than that if drinking.

I can sleep nearly anywhere and nearly any time. I can also stay awake forever if there is a good reason. If I drink I can fall asleep even faster and my sleep quality is proportional to how much I drink in an inverse and/or reverse curve.
Pass the gravy.

I know a guy who took that, laid down in bed and woke up in the Lake Worth jail. He had charges for evading, resisting and a bunch of other stuff. He had zero memory of it all and expected to wake back up in his own bed. yep it can do funky things to yo brain It's all in the posted warnings. I took it for years without incident until it stopped working. One of my customers had to stop taking it , She was sleep driving. Would woke up in her car and had no idea where she was. had to call her son to come get her. MO

I have been taking Clonazepam since I was diagnosed with RLS back in the 80's. I was also taking a low dose of Lexapro (Meloxicam) since I had my Melanoma. I was freaking out and my doctor prescribed it to help me deal with it.
My sleep Doc took me off both of them. BTW, he didn't tell me to WEEN off the Clonazepam and I was a wreck going through a true detox period. THEN, he prescribed an Iron Ferros supplement. Low and behold the restless leg has almost disappeared. I still have it but rarely now.
Then I couldn't fall asleep. Tossed and turned for a couple hours. He then had me set my alarm at 7:30am every day, NO snooze, no napping (hard). At 11:30pm I turn off the TV and laptop, grab one of the books I asked ya'll for help finding. I read, NOT IN BED, for a half hour or till I find a good stopping place. Go to bed in the DARK and COLD. Now I fall asleep very quickly. Yes, there are nights I toss and turn for a little while if I have something on my mind I'm dealing with.
If I stick with it, I'm sleeping very well. My CPAP is hooked to a website which tracks my sleep and tells me I'm getting plenty.
Long story longer but that's been my sleep journey since last spring.

Long story longer but that's been my sleep journey since last spring. Thanks. I’d use the Clonazipam (spelling) for anxiety and panic attacks when I was having my PET scans and full MRI’s. Never knocked me out though. Melatonin gives me weird dreams. Been falling asleep to the tv for over 20 years as my tinnitus is horrible and the noise helps. Might give the reading another go.
