TexFlips post made me wonder.... Whenever I drink a bunch, I have a harder time falling asleep.

Who has a short night cap before bed?

Does it help you sleep?

Nope, alcohol in small or large amounts doesn't make me sleep better.

Unless you speedball it with something else it’s a depressant.

Are you sure that's not Mary singing you a lullaby?

I always thought it was a stimulant. I don't know where I got that. Oh well, learn something new everyday.

LOL. It's a depressant, sometimes too depressing if your mind's not right.

Maybe I thought it was a stimulant because when I used to drink, my heart rate was a lot higher. I noticed it when I would hit the sack. It never raced like that if I hadn't been drinking. So maybe not something I heard, just experienced.

On second thought, maybe my wife said it. She don't know (censored) anyway.

Alcohol in general, I don't believe helps me sleep, but...especially if I'm under the weather...a hot toddy or two does wonders.

A drink or two definitely helps me fall asleep, but if I have much more than that, I don't sleep well and can't stay asleep.

It's all in the posted warnings. I took it for years without incident until it stopped working.

I have a full bar but rarely drink anything but fruit brandy. I have to be careful because it goes down so easy.

Puts me straight to sleep, which is why I never understood how people drink and party all night. But, after about 4 hours I start waking up and have a horrible time sleeping the rest of the night.

I have found two ingredients create beneficial rest:

1). Don't worry about what you can't control

2). A clean conscience really helps
