Is now owned by the Japanese. They will need to work on a new name It will probably be Nippon Steel.

This whole country is for sale. Hope they bring in all their own workers. They’re probably crossing the border right now.

Pennsylvania votes for this nonsense.

Given how badly US Steel has been dropping the ball for decades Japanese ownership can only improve things.

The stock is up. Nippon may be feeling strong about demand, I think they paid a premium for USS.

Worked at Lone star steelfrom 92 till covid hit and US steel shut it down. Did get my time in and a retirement check but they did not make good decisions on running a plant. The biggest draw bench in the world was cut up for scrap among other equipment. Enjoyed my time there and miss coworkers. A big loss for east texas as it wasone of the better paying companies.

We were just talking about this today. Work with or know a couple folks that worked there or family worked there. Was talking about the copper from all the motor windings.

At one time they had a huge pile of it. Last i heard they had sold some of the equipment. There is probably still a bunch of copper underground and in conduit scattered about. Some good deer and pigs out there too between main plant and t&n.
