Anyone know when the bear emblem started to be put on the stock?

Ok, that makes some sense. My dad still has his (42xxx) and it does not have a bear on it. He swears it is all original/as he bought it, but I wasn't sure since no bear. Thanks

For some reason I was thinking the bear emblem, on the bottom of the grip IIRC, was only on the deluxe models? Regardless, they are superb rifles no doubt.
