My daughter shot a buck yesterday evening. I thought maybe his hind end had gotten dirty or swas just darker. Turned out he had a case of the runs (Diarrhea).

He looked and acted completely healthy otherwise. He came out, checked on a doe and then ate some corn like the other deer. We did put out about 10 pounds of corn a couple days before. So possible that he ate to much corn but I doubt that's the case because other deer came out and ate some and there's always hogs going through.

Anyway, given those facts, healthy looking deer with diarrhea, would the meat be safe to eat or should we trash it?

As long as the meat looks and smells normal, I'd eat it.

Meat is probably fine, their stomachs can be pretty sensitive when it comes to certain things.

Couldve drank dirty water.
