Have a shoulder mount Whitetail buck that needs a complete new hide, the hair is falling out. What kind of time and money am I looking at?

This would be a whole new mount. Depending on you area. Taxidermy can range from $700-$1200 for a whitetail shoulder mount. And then in this case the cost of a new hide. That will depend on neck size and where deer was shot. Those can range from $150-$300 maybe more.

Go out hunting and shoot yourself another buck this season that has some age on him and has the kind of skin you like. Then take the buck to your taxidermist and have him/her skin it out. Also, bring your old mount so that he can remove the antlers. Be prepared to pay for a new mount. New and first time taxidermist may charge $400-$500. Quality taxidermist range from $750-$1000 or more.

You can bring your own cape in, but still have to pay for tanning service.
