Spent the last 5 days chasing elk around the mountain here in Wyoming. Weather has been unseasonably warm, highs in the 50's and lows in the middle 30's. This time last year it was -14 and 10" of snow on the ground. No cold weather gear needed we hunted in long underwear and blue jeans. With the warm weather the elk haven't moved into the area. Trip as always was good seeing old friends and the trout fishing is world class. We did see a few elk but 1000 yards and moving is out of my league. I'll be back next year.

Had to be a fun trip anyways

Those can be fun trips especially of the fishing is good. Went on one in Montana out of 5 hunters I was the only one that left with an elk and got a small 5X5 the first day of the hunt and a deer the next. Fished the rest of the week catching mostly brookies in the streams beaver dams close to camp. Caught one small cut throat and got an invite to fish a 15 acre pond on a neighbor ranch, caught 3 rainbows the largest almost 8lbs. Hauled a processed elk back form the processor and helped put in the freezer and got offered the chance to fish.

Awesome.

Sorry, no snow yet to speak of . Elk are really scattered still up on the mountains.
Haven't had the herds move up yet from Colorado either.
