Did you guys know that all mature mallards have 4 curl feathers? Normally 2 feathers interlock creating 2 curls, but sometimes those feathers come unlocked, creating 3 or 4 curls. In very rare cases, a mallard could have 6 feathers, creating 3 interlocking curls and possibly 6 curls if they all come unlock, but that is not normal, like someone having 6 toes.
Guy is 100 percent correct, just wondered who would be the first one to burst the OP’s bubble, lol.
Oh not trying to burst any bubbles, just providing some duck hunting fun facts to my THF friends. Mallard was my first mount. Mount below was my dogs second hunt (2006), first one was a skunk. The first hunt I was unable to get to my walk-in spot because of a deep creek, so just sat and watch mallards drop into my spot all morning. Next day, came in from the other side and smoked them. It was first time my dog fetched ducks, first time I shot a limit of ducks, and first time I shot mallards.
Coming in hard (hanging with fishing line).
My girl Molly (RIP)
Honestly, this whole time I have had this mount, I never looked at how many curls it had till this morning.
