Think of getting one for a AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoore. How well does it hold zero with that cal recoil? Also how well does it work with a green feeder light at the feeder? Just wondering if the light in front of the scope would effect it? If. Glare or cause a hazy appearance..

Which Wraith? Full size HD or 4k digital night vision, Wraith mini in 4k Digital NV or in Thermal? Green light won't impact the thermal. Green light will show up as gray/white light on digital night vision. Glare? Possibly, depending on the orientation of the light to the optic. Hazy? Probably not.

If you have your light source pointing away from the optic and toward the target, you should be okay. The only possible problem I would see is just how bright the light is and whether it is too bright for night mode, and if so, maybe you use day mode. Or, maybe you go put a piece of tape over part of the light so that it isn't so bright.

6.5 Creedmoor recoil will be no problem for any of the Wraiths.

I hunt over a feeder (150 yards) and have a green motion activated light at the feeder. My scope is a Wraith Mini 4k. Using the IR light when using the scope works fine when the green feeder light is at full power. I do, on the advice of this forum, have the feeder light angled away from where I am.

I haven’t had any problem with the Wraith holding zero on a 6.5 Grendel. You will want a Wraith monocular or a thermal monocular. I bought the Wraith monocular before I knew that there was a thermal one for less money.

I don’t know where you live, but if it’s within a reasonable driving distance, you are welcome to have a look through the Wraith. I’m near Groesbeck, which is about 40 miles east of Waco. And I have a 100 yard range.

I have to add that, from looking at videos of guys using thermal scopes and shooting hogs, the thermal looks really great. Someday maybe I’ll spring for that, but I’m not as dedicated to shooting hogs and coyotes at night, so staying with the Wraith for now.

Thanks for the offer, but I live in Denton and that would be a pretty good drive for me. I really do appreciate the offer though.

The Wraiths are all rated for .308 recoil. I don't see any issues with a green feeder light, you just might not need the IR light or it could be on low or a flood beam.

As for which Wraith to look at, it depends on your budget and shooting range. I do not advise the 4x models unless you're shooting a whole lot over 150+ yards. The 2x models can feel like not quite enough magnification if you're doing a lot of 75+ yard shooting but the wider FOV is still better than the very narrow FOV of the 4x scopes at those ranges. The Wraith 4K Max is a 3x and it's a nice in-between if your torn between 2x and 4x. Also, don't forget the 4K models have WAY higher resolution and allow you to use your digital zoom a lot more with way less graininess and distortion of the image.

Feel free to give us a call if you'd like to ask some questions and discuss which model might work best for you. We'd be happy to help and would love to have your business.

Thermals are expensive and if you are like me and dont have the opportunity to hunt at night enough to make a $3500 investment on a thermal then the wraith is the way to go.

I have the 2X Mini and it is perfect with the combination of a thermal monocular. Having those 2 I can find them at any distance get up close on them and shoot. The mini is good to about 100 yards and in most situations that is close enough especially at night.

I really love my combination of those two and feel it is all that I need for my 6 or 7 night trips per year.

Good luck on whatever you decide!

Pickup an aftermarket illuminator and you can easily triple your effective range. Sniper Hawg Lights if you have deep pockets, or there are plenty of Amazon versions for under 100.

Which handheld are you using?

I think I’ll get a better illuminator. Glad you mentioned it.

Believe this is the one I’m running, the 50mm version. Much tighter focus and easily throws to the ~250-300 range.

Went to the local gunshop, paid the ransom, got the Grendel, took it home, put the Wraith Mini back on it, shot 3 rounds dead center in the bullseye at 100 yards. Ok, that’s a pretty repeatable mount. Now, for the bigger illuminator.

Talk to me about the AGM Rattler, the TC19-256 version. I'd like to get one, but want to know the pros and cons from you guys!

I'll keep it short and sweet....the TC19 is a clipon. You do not want a clipon. The TC19 is a 256 resolution optic. You do not want a 256 resolution scope. Ha! Sorry to be so blunt but both those things are big negatives for the vast vast majority of hunters. I would suggest any decent 384 resolution dedicated thermal rifle scope over any of these type of clipon optics.

Feel free to give us call, we'll be happy to explain more and answer any questions.

$43 isn't a bad deal. I can' recall 10-12 years ago that a light that would get you 250-300 yards was going to cost you at least $100 and a good would would cost $200-400 (without CR123 batteries as rechargeables were slow to appear on the market, then later we found 18650s and things changed). Digital night vision at the time was dominated by Pulsar and a scope would cost you about $1350. It came with a crappy IR illuminator that would get you out 80-120 yards. For many folks, shots beyond 100 yards with this technology wasn't considered very prudent. Wraiths, by comparison, are pretty darned amazing.

I don't know if the lights have gotten better or the optic technology is better, but either way, the prices have really come down from back then and performance has improved.

My advice, get a 2x model of whatever you choose in their digital night vision line. A few reasons....1) Field of view is better on the 2x model. 2) there are 8 levels of magnification on both the 2x and the 4x models. The 2x maxes at 16x, so you jump 2x for each increase in power adjustment (2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16). The 4x maxes at 32x so it jumps 4x at a time (4,8,12,16,20,24,28,32). 3) a jump from 4x to 8x can be a lot on a target within 100yds, also reducing the already narrow field of view considerably. 4) And, my Wraith 4x (OG model) starts getting pretty grainy above 16x anyway, so it's rare I turn it up past that. Never taken a shot with it turned up past 16, but admittedly, where I use mine doesn't affer too many opportunites beyond 175yds anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wraith, for the money it's a capable unit for sure. I paired it with a lower cost but greatly improved IR torch and immediately increased it's range out past 200yds. But I bought mine a couple of months before the 2x's came out, and wished I had waited. My next one will definitely be the 2x mini. All the features of the 2x in a smaller/lighter package.

You should be fine with the recoil, as stated above they are rated to 308 levels.

Get a better torch, mount it under the hand-guard to minimize whiteout from the muzzle flash and enjoy. Join the Wraith group on FB and you can find a couple of people 3d printing throw levers for them. I think you can find a combination of features to make it usable with the green feeder light. Likely no, or very little, IR would work. You have plenty of reticle color options to find what contrasts the best.

My only real complaint about mine is not being able to dim the view screen any more. The screen can still be too bright for me at times on the lowest setting. Not sure if any newer models have addressed this issue or not, I'm sure it's not a common complaint.

Question for the group. I'm a new sightmark wraith 4k mini user 2x and got it to hunt day and night. Everything I can find says it legal for deer hunting along as it's in legal shooting hours and no illuminator. Is this right?
Next part in daylight mode in that first 30 and last 30 of legal shooting time it's really hard to see of turned to knight mode it pics up more light and you can see way better but is that legal being you don't have the illuminator on.i want to be able to video a hunt but I want to for sure be legal. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Next would be call the game warden and ask.

One more thing I'll add that first 15 minutes are so of legal light it's a no go if you can have it in the night mode in my opinion but on a positive note I bought the snipper hog loght the 38 with the turbo 850nm and it's bad to the bone
Well work the money.
