Here a few of my favorite knives that I use during the season. Pulled them out and fixing to sharpen them up. The top one is a Carl Schlieper, Solingen Germany. I picked this up at an auction about 30 years ago. It is one of the easiest knives to get an edge on. The one below it is my Dads old Schrade-Waldin knife. I first remember seeing this knife probably in 1970. It was always in his hunting box looped to a belt that held a plastic Federal cartridge holder with his 303 ammo in it. I hardly get to use it but it always goes with me to keep my dad’s memory with me. The one on the bottom Hibbard Spencer Bartlett (they were bought out by Ace Hardware) is my full time skinner. I found it rusted shut in the bottom of a fishing tackle box. When I was able to get here open she was still sharp as a razor. Getting ready for the season and hoping to make some more history with these.

Too funny I have the exact Scharde-Waldin knife except it's branded "Craftsman". I received it as a Christmas gift in 1970 from my parents. I still have it and it holds a wicked edge.
Nice I have several of those Eye Brand "sodbuster " pattern knives. I wish I'd bought a dozen of each nearly 40 years ago when I bought what I have. They're pretty expensive now if you can find em at all. Very sharp blades. All mine have "HAMMER FORGED " etched in the blade
The locking blade models were right at $100.00 the last time I checked

Still have the same "Craftsman" version I got in 71 or 72 for Christmas from one of my Uncles.

Just remembering. I also carry my dads knife every time I go hunting. It’s a heavy belt knife, high carbon steel, that he carried through Europe and Africa during WWII. Had to make a new scabbard. It stays in my “possibles” bag.
