Had our resident Bald Eagle running everything off the pond this morning. He first dived bombed some Cara Cara on the bank and chased them off the property. He then came back and dove on six geese and ran them off. They weren't the usual resident Canada geese though. They appeared to be all gray and their necks were thicker and shorter than the Canadas.

I am not familiar with the different species. Suggestions?

Specklebelly probably.

Maybe. They flew right over me and I didn't see any white.

Maybe Egyptian geese? they are showing up more and more, usually some private pond released pet/birds that are now feral. We've shot a few in Central Texas and north of Houston.
