Good luck to all the kids who will be hunting this upcoming weekend and be sure to share photos of your trophies.

Taking my son out this weekend. Fingers crossed something legal will step out.

Kids, parents, and their guides are out in the blinds. It was a little Keystone Cops there for a bit, getting them all headed in the right directions, but should hear does flopping soon. A little rain too, to make it real huntin'.

Good luck on the Evening hunt!

This is the first youth season I didn’t get to sit with a grandkid since they were old enough to hunt, the oldest grandson has his HSC and hunts by himself, he wants to bow hunt, one had to work and the others couldn’t make it. Good luck to all the young ones.

Good luck to all the kids who will be hunting this upcoming weekend and be sure to share photos of your trophies. unless they dont use a ledge as a rest from a box blind…right Seems petty, However, I've never been one to be impressed when some parent wants to brag about their six-year-old who killed his/her first deer with a rifle they had to lay on the ledge of a box stand window for them to do it. But then, we do now find ourselves in the era of "everyone gets a trophy" don't we.

4 more does down this morning, all with the north wind blowing the scent from the blind to the feeder. Temp dropped 15 degrees in 30 minutes, while they were in the blinds. Good experience for the kiddos. There's always a few issues...they're kids! I think a good time was had by all.

I see some examples in that photo that point to why I wish I had someone to teach me about the sport when I was that age. That is, what shoes and clothing works best. Unfortunately, that's something I suspect many if not most of us learned through trial and error. Thank you for investing your time to teach these kids more about the sport.

Yes sir. I've thought about Operation Orphans, out of Mason, but haven't given them a call yet. Trying the TWA Adult Mentor Hunt in 2 weeks.

As I sit here and browse through the forum, I read this thread and I am impressed with what Creek has done and wanted to say "Thank you Creek for giving others an opportunity to learn about hunting and a chance to harvest a deer". When growing up , my dad didn't hunt and I never had that opportunity until I was in my 20's. I sure had a lot of mistakes but have learned a lot over the years. Thanks again Creek.

Me too B_Man. Grandson and his buddy. They’re all grown now. Yesterday, grandson, his buddy and wives filled 6 feeders. They bought the corn, batteries, cams, etc. Then winterized the well and house before they left.
They said “You taught us. Now, it’s our turn.”
Son in law worked on the actuators for the tractors front end loader.
My feeling is that it’s nice gestures but Dammit, I’m not ready for the rocking chair. I’ve spent too many years stomping my own snakes.

My son is 26 now. I got him in TYHP when he was 13. We went on some great hunts, to great ranches, and with great people. He harvested several deer, learned a lot about hunting and the woods, made a lot of memories, and made friends all over Texas. I can't say enough how great TYHP is. Keep up the good work.
