I've seen that on an outboard motor, but it was a two stroke.

It’s missing an important part. It doesn’t look like it was broken off. Pretty sure it was made that way.

What does the old spark plug look like? Is the spark plug # the same as the old one?

There are hapless plugs these days not sure if yours is correct or damaged, but they do exist.

damn, This thread reminded me I need to order and change plugs on my mule pro The old one looked like it had been in a camp fire. mine needs it, cheap Original plugs still in mine. Im sure these look terrible also
