I really have no idea which forum to post this in, but I need a little help. At my range I usually bury 14" long 2" PVC pipes to hold my target stands made of 2"x2" wood. A week ago I carried 4 pcs. down to the range for a target at 150 yards and one at 200 yards. Since I forgot to bring my post-hole digger I just left them where they needed to go. I went back a few days later and they were gone! I live out in the middle of nowhere! I can't imagine "someone" coming by my range. After all, nothing has bothered the box holding my spotting scope, targets, or rifle rest. There are deer, bear, coyotes, opossums, raccoons, foxes, and about every type vermin. What would want four 12" pieces of PVC? AND why?

Why? Because they needed them. Because they wanted them. Because they wanted to mess with you.
However, chances are it was a natural event of some sort, or like you said, your other stuff would be gone.

2 words, “Crack Pipes” some large animal needed new ones and they used your range as a Home Depot.

I have a lot of feral hogs on my ranch. They are like dogs. They pickup almost anything they can and carry it around. They move rocks, dead tree limbs and their favorite, golf balls. I watched one last night throwing a golf ball and chasing after it.

Plenty of squirrels but no hogs. I could see if it was a case of a squirrel just gnawing on the ends. but dragging it off? My best guess is a young bear. At least I cut four more pieces and got them in the ground. I'll see if anything pull them back up???

I snuck in and moved them just to mess with you...they're 50 yards north of where you left them!

When I lived in North Central Pennsylvania, bears would hall off anything left outside that was made from plastic or rubber.
