If you are planning of watching the eclipse this weekend make sure to get some sort of protection. You might contact you optometrist and see if they have any. My eye doctor send me two pair in the mail when I mentioned we were going to watch it. You can also use welder's lenses if you have any. Sunglasses will not protect you BTW. Got some leftover from the last one !! I'll check out the "fire ring" on this one, prepping for the Total eclipse on April 8th 2024. Never know how many we got left to see.

Only safe if you have a shade 14 lens. Yup. Last time I was looking through my Shade 10 welding lens and also wearing shade 5 plasma cutting glasses.

If You’re wondering about your welding helmet like mentioned above, if it’s not set up for aluminum high frequency tig welding it’s probably not dark enough. That’s assuming you need a 14 as mentioned above, I have no clue about that. Very few helmets have 14s.
