I would say 5. I always say at least 5 when they have loose skin under jaw.

Jaw & forehead too triangulated to be three. Before referenced appearance of loose skin under the jaw indicates older than four.
This might be agood representation of a three year old. I know he was no older than that when the photos was snapped.

Huds use of the term “indicates” is well used. IMO, there are no absolutes in aging a deer on the hoof. Previous history with a deer is the best way to get the closest. Beyond that, try to look at as many “indicators” as you can and swoosh em all together and hope you are within a year of correct.

Aging is largely a science of repetition, observation and putting time in the field, plain and simple. You see thousands of deer over years, decades and watch for mannerisms, displays of dominance, non-dominance and body features and characteristics, coloration, you get pretty good at it. Can you be occassionally fooled by tricky angles, low lighting, etc., sure but generally not the norm.

I would say 6.5 due to sequencing of the eyes.

Depends on if your neighbors or lease members will shoot it. BTW, how do you like your stand n fill feeder? What brand is it?

Barrel shaped body without much sag or taper in the belly with tight skin, straight back, neck coming in just above the brisket, hind quarters full with legs that match body size all says text book 4. Triangular head. Depth from top down to jawline as deep as head is long says 5 plus. As early as it is in the season and without knowing much about that buck I would guess four based on the body. He could be considerably older. I am usually conservative when sizing up a buck I’ve never seen before.

Buzz, almost certain that feeder is a Bucees feeder.
