I finally got lucky and drew the Pronghorn hunt with 22 points. Drove up last Friday and started hunting Saturday. I did spot a few while scouting friday afternoon. I found a water hole and set up my bow blind. Got set up before sunrise and waited. About 9am it started raining and I headed for the truck. I continued driving around d and discovered hunting holes was probably not going to work, because the ranchers have water everywhere for their Cattle. I scouted the remaining 60k acres and found a couple of lone bucks, on private of course. They were leisurely eating johnson grass in the bar ditch and just hopped of the road as I drove by, I think they were laughing at me (first pic). Sunday, I continued driving and searching with the only Pronghorn seen were the white rumps as they ran over the hill 3/4 mile away. Monday I knew their was one section of the grasslands I hadn't driven so off I went. This particular Forest Service road was about 4 miles long. A about mile 3.5 I spotted a lone doe and I thought that's unusual,. I noticed there was a slight rise in the landscape so off I went to peak over the rise. A few more does were seen, but no buck. I kept inching forward and there he was, bedded down. The herd was getting nervous and he finally stood up and trotted a few yards, stopping behind a doe. I hoped he would move or the doe would clear out and she did. My old 6mm Remington barked, he ran about 30 yards and took his last breath. The area consists of rolling hills and trees are only located at old homesteads or the bottom of draws. I was fortunate to see the most amazing sunsets and sunrises. It was an amazing experience and I'm grateful for the opportunity.

Heck yeah, I got about 15 more years to go before I pull a tag but it'll be worth the wait!

Congratulations on a great buck! Great pictures and a perfect, concise write up. ![up up](/forum/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif) I've drawn the same hunt, but did not have your success, nor your patience and skill. Well done.

Congrats to you! I hunted there October 2022. Didn't pull a trigger. Beautiful place, though.

Congrats. Best wild meat I've tasted so far.

That is so awesome. I am happy for you. It is so nice when a hunt like that comes together. I am up to 27 points on that hunt. I still doubt I will ever draw it, but I will keep trying.
