Are these rechargeable flashlights really good? I'm still living in the stone age and use alkaline batteries. Quit buying alkaline batteries for anything you care about. Kestrel was shipping new units out with their alkaline batteries. And they were corroding, ruining a $700 instrument. Kestrel took care of their customers. But they sent out a press release for everyone to move over to lithium ion AA batteries. They don't rupture and corrode. That was about 7 years ago, if memory serves. And I haven't bought an alkaline battery ever since.

Which one do you recommend? Streamlight ProTac 2. Rail mount model for a weapon if that is desired. Seems a bit large and heavy to carry while walking or riding a bike Have you tried any one with a much smaller footprint? I don't need it to light up the world like the one you posted, it's sweet for sure but a tad on the bulky side for me

I have the rechargeable case one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/165490961992

I got a couple of spare batteries too. Between them and the charger case, I’m never without light.

Surefire G2X is nice for a smaller light or mounted on a rifle. I picked up a few when Midway had them on sale for $50. I've had 2 Streamlights for a full size one, Poly Stinger DS and a regular stinger. The last one I got has a super bright led bulb. I've also had a fenix about the same size as the surefire. All were good and I would definitely get a rechargeable one, was easier than keeping spare batteries and those CR123s get expensive

That little olight is bright! 1200 lumens. May have to get one of those. I have a couple of small LAPG flashlights for pocket carry but that Olight looks smaller and is definitely brighter

I bought a couple after reading your post and a little reseach. First impression is that it is a solid light and quite bright. Thanks for the info.

If you’re not happy with the Olight you’re hard to please.

If you’re not happy with the Olight you’re hard to please. I used it yesterday morning I was impressed, very strong light on normal mode and when I do the double tap the light gets stronger and even more powerful. I am gonna see how long it will go on a single charge now Loving it so far, I might get a back up for traveling

Good deal. It’s the most compact and versatile light I’ve ever had and I’m a flashlight nerd.
