I have seriously tried every beer Shiner has to offer and just cannot do it. This has been a long process to achieve, btw.

It is awful beer from their Mexican beer to the cactus crap.

I am disappointed in myself for not liking a Texas beer, but it is what it is.

So officially, Shiner beer is awful, to me.

Sue me. I can’t stand Shiner. I’ve tried to like it.

Just give me a XX.

I like regular Shiner but I haven’t tried any of their other offerings. I usually stick with what I like. I’ll order a Shiner if that’s one of limited offerings but I don’t drink it often.

Me too. My "STEP" Grandpa is still alive today, lives here in Aransas Pass. He is very much a Czech from Shiner. His family was one of "the families" that started the original Shiner Brewery and ran it for years. I like a cold Shiner or two once in a while. A cold Shiner Black is amazing with a steak meal, and a great cooking beer. If you drink White Claw you probly won't like Shiner.

Funny you would mention that…I would actually compare shiner to a ranch water, white claw drink…no body and lack of deep flavor all varieties.

You know where I hunt and have been trying for the past year to like one variety so I have a reason to drive there and do a tour, but not going to waste my time.

Interesting. I don't agree, but we all have different taste buds. If you want deep flavor that you can actually taste in every drink, try Shiner Black. You won't go back.....

IF I have a beer and that's not very often I do reach for the Texhex Wicked Haze with it's 9.5 Alc. it's the only one I can bet a buzz off of without having to drink a whole 12 pack, I have a very High tolerance cool2

If you like a rich dark beer like Guiness, you'll like it. It's heavy so to me it's a meal beer before I pass out and snore.....but as mentioned IMO it's a great cooking beer and sure adds flavor to a pot of pinto beans, chili, or a discada......

You're welcome.

I drank a lot of Shiner in my youth. Big fan of the Kosmos Reserve you can only get in the family reunion 6 pack. If they'd put that out in 6 packs I'd buy it.

Actually Guinness is dark and looks bold but is still weak to me flavor wise. I will try Shiner black though.

cheers
