Are there any real good gun shows anymore? Big or small with very little junk? We have one in Wichita Falls but it is 50/50.

Whipping Farms are okay. There’s one in Cleburne in December.

I miss the gun shows sponsored by the Southside Optimist Club of Fort Worth.

Does the neighborhood pool have a handicapped parking space for your bicycle?

There’s not. The internet killed all the deals at gun shows.

The last few years I have went to Lawton Ok and hunting/ gun related / reloading / ammo has been considerably better than a lot of gun shows in Texas. There was little to no jewelry ,scrap iron, junk, fake purses .you get the picture.however i did make some good deals on primers and powder a couple years ago. I believe the next gun show is in November this year. Give it a look if your in the area and have a little time .

I used to enjoy the Fort Worth one but no more. I have a safe full of shooting irons but that’s not the reason. The problem is the cost for parking and admission. I’ve talked to others and they feel the same way.,

Blame the city of Fort Worth for that. The promoters have no control over the city owned parking lots. I set up at that gunshow and pulled my cargo trailer. First, they would not allow me to park under the garage with my trailer, made me take it down the street to a lot specifically to keep trailers over night, then not only charged me for parking my truck for both days, but then charged me for two night overnight parking for my trailer. But that's all City of Fort Worth's doing there.

Last good show I went to was in Bowie. It wasn't very big but had some good stuff, no parking fee and very low thug factor. Great environment where most people where there to just buy, sell and swap guns. That was prob back 2018 or so.

Anyone know if Tulsa is still the big dog in the gun show biz? I don't need anything worth the drive. However, it used to be one of those things you just had to do once. It was huge!

I really like the Dallas Arms Collectors Association (DACA) gun show. The weekend of September 21, 2024 they are moving to a new venue in Garland Texas called the Hella Shrine Event Center. DACA puts on a great show. I always learn something from the knowledgeable collectors and see a lot of interesting stuff. It's not like your usual gun show that's half flea market stuff. The DACA show is mostly 'gun' tables. On an interesting note DACA is a Texas non-profit organization that does a lot to support their community. They have donated a lot of money to 2A organizations, sponsored high school skeet teams and offered free hunter safety training. DACA also supported the Dallas Police Department by giving them 50K in patrol rifles - and two 50 cal Barrett sniper rifles - when the city budget would not approve it. Their SWAT team uses those Barrett rifles to this day. They have definitely earned my support. I look forward to seeing their new venue this weekend.

I stopped going to gun shows when I realized I could eliminate the middleman and deal directly with sellers using the various online sources.

All the good deals at gun shows are long gone in my opinion and experience, you can almost just go to a gun store and get the same deal now. Now, back in the day before all the new restrictions and rules came along, gun shows were great! Same thing happened at Pawn Shops, once upon a time you could get some good deals and find firearms not currently available or in production, now mostly junk, I have one pawn shop here that is still a great shop. I still like to just go look but some of the gun shows down here never came back after Covid. Just my 2cents

It's still a thing and big. Next show is November 9-10.

Tulsa and Shot Show are the only ones worth going to. Shot Show is limited to those eligible to attend.
