Always wanted a cement "yard" deer for the garden, but they are ridiculous expensive to buy one. Next door neighbor had one and said it was mine if I felt like casting a new base and legs. Since it was a mule deer, I said sure thing, it'll look great out back. I washed it and got all the old dirt off. Made a base out of Sakrete, and will cast some legs today.

On a lease north of Sisterdale years ago, I had the perfect spot picked out to place a concrete buck. We frequently rolled around mid-day, sometimes with customers, and looked for something to shoot. The road curved perfectly on a little saddle with a ridge facing it as you looked back right about 300 yards. 'Woulda been perfect for "Daaammm! Get out and shoot that buck!!!" 'Never got it done. (Keeping it painted woulda been a PITA, but I would have relished stacking antlers on it.)

That buck is definitely a high fence deer

we used to do that with some old mounts the guy that got fooled sometimes got really mad , another took the whole thing home , we would drive up and act like we were just gonna look at something and be really slow on the trigger so the sucker could beat you to the draw, it was always a hoot especially when the sucker reloads to shoot again thinking he missed

After two days of minor harassment, the boss finally decided that she likes it, and it's cute. Spent the afternoon telling me how to paint it, and where to put it in the backyard!!!
